  • What types of programs does Hidden Acres offer?

We provide a variety of equine-assisted programs, including therapeutic riding, equine-assisted learning, youth and teen specialty programs, adult specialty programs, and nature-based therapeutic activities like gardening. Each program is tailored to meet the unique needs and goals of our participants.

  • Who can participate in your programs?

Our programs are designed for children and adults with physical, developmental, and emotional challenges. Whether you’re managing depression, PTSD, Down syndrome, or other conditions, we welcome anyone seeking personal growth, connection, and well-being. An assessment will be performed prior to sessions to ensure meaningful and safe participation.

  • What should I wear or bring to a session?

Participants should wear comfortable clothing and closed-toe shoes with a low heel (if riding). Helmets are provided for riding sessions. If you’re attending a nature-based or gardening program, dress appropriately for the weather and bring gloves if you have them.

  • How are the horses selected and cared for?

Our therapy horses are chosen for their calm temperament, soundness, and suitability for beginner riders. They are valued partners in our therapeutic process and receive the highest standard of care, including veterinary checkups, equine massage, and daily turnout on large pastures.
